I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned somewhere on this site that I'm originally from Canada. In truth, we in Canada are generally raised with little to no knowledge of the indigenous people who lived in North America prior to colonization. The desire to find out more about the languages, cultures and lifestyles of the people who are descendants of the true native daughters and sons of the land is largely left up to personal initiative. I can't claim that I've invested a lot of time into the endeavour, as I've looked much farther east, rather than at home, for inspiration. Still, I find Inuktitut and the languages of the North to be fascinating, and this is my attempt at exploring them and their environment in a way that, I hope, is respectful and educational while also being fun.
